Default College shooting again, Va. Tech.

Damn I hate the fact that here is yet another college shooting. Evidently there is one fatality and at least 17 wounded at Virginia Tech. today. Police have one in custody and hopefully it is the shooter. I don't know about the rest of the crowd here but for something like this I would definitely vote for an expedited trial and execution. That is of course as long as they positively have the right person. Wonder what will happen if the shooter is a young Muslim?? We will just have to wait and see. Hopefully non of our forum friends were injured there. Sorry about this rant, its just that it really ticks me off to hear crud like this. catfish

Well... if it was a rifle it was either an "assault rifle" or a "sniper rifle".

It's sad that all this is happening at schools. I hope they got the bastard. (as in killed him vs arresting him)

Apparently he killed himself. The coward's way out. I had guessed as much.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

I think we should prepare for the backlash. They are reporting that 2 9mm handguns were found at the scene. With the outpouring of alarmists and social leeches that you can bet will come in force to use this tragedy as a springboard for their own agendas, our rights are going to come under brand new fire.

I have been watching various news programs today, and I have already seen it begin within hours of the incident. No shortage of telephone interviews with "specialist" quacks whose warcry is "I told you so!"

Nevermind that many gun control laws are catch-22s, since no evil-doer will stop what he is doing and say, "Oh, but there are no firearms allowed on that property. Curses, foiled again!"

Let us pray that the authorities and the American public have the wisdom to take appropriate actions.

Another fine example of a defenceless zone.

Liberals will never understand this, stupid, clueless, mentally deranged liberals.

Quote:
Places off-limits while carrying

School property/school functions unless gun is unloaded, in an enclosed container (but NOT in the glove box or console) and in the vehicle. A car's trunk is considered an enclosed container. However, a concealed handgun permit holder can have a loaded, concealed handgun in the vehicle while in the school parking lot, traffic circle, etc. The concealed handgun and the permit holder must stay in the vehicle. Firearms are not banned from property open to the public where a school function is being held unless that property is being used exclusively for the school function. Violation of this statute is a felony

So in other words, the threat of possibly committing a felony by carry your self defence weapon caused the deaths of 32 kids. All it would have taken was one teacher or student to take care of this problem.

If they (liberals) are going to take away the law of nature they should be under the obligation to protect you as such. But the police or any other Govt official are under no obligation to protect me or you. When are the Dems going to understand this?

They haven't so far and I doubt they ever will. This tragity is a direct result OF gun control.

Last info I heard (msnbc.com) there were 31 killed and 28 wounded. They said the shooter had a 9mm handgun and a .22 handgun. He had a vest with extra magazines stuffed in it. This is just tragic, and I hope it doesn't bode ill for our sport. One nut-job is despondent over his girlfriend dumping him and a professor he didn't like and goes out randomly killing people. At least he had the decency to end it by taking himself out of the gene pool.

He wouldnt have the chance around here, I can make it to my car pretty quick and he wouldn't have the chance to kill himself.

The news ticker at Fox News just reported that the two handguns found at the scene were 9mm and 22mm. This guy really must have meant business.

Guns are not the problem in our country. It is the stigma and the lack of education surrounding them.

This is a very tragic event in our nation's history and I symapthize with the families of the victims. The attention of the entire world is focused on us gun owners now and the laws we all abide by. I can't help but believe we haven't even felt the shock wave thats surely coming from the anti-gun lobby. I think its going to be a rough ride in the years to come because an event like this isn't going to be easily forgotten. This couldn't have happened at a worse time either. I was feeling fairly confident H.R. 1022 would never make it past the house floor until this happened. All it takes is one deranged nut job with a gun to make us all look bad and sway public opinion against firearm purchasing and ownership.

I'm really sad to see it. This is a thing I'd never understand, never accept. But fortunatelly it is an isolated event. Today, just today around 20 persons were killed in my former town, Rio de Janeiro, in riots involving drug dealers. And it is normal. No matter how we look at, a bunch of lifes lost. No concrete solution or way to avoid it from happening again. Oh yes, except for the anti gun freaks, that always have the perfect culprit, the guns.

Just watching a piece on Fox news about how they recently shot down
legislation there that would have allowed people on campus concealed
carry. They also mentioned how one campus shooting was stopped when
two student with permits got their guns from their cars and stopped the
shooter before he killed anyone.
Don't look for that story on too many other channels.

Just shows gun control works like a charm..........for criminals.

QUOTE=WarSteed;246720]Gawd..he's Korean too... dang it, i'll never hear the end of this at work.[/QUOTE]

Hold on folks here I go again. Just a short reminder of days gone past. Remember the child pedophile in Georgia that kidnapped and murdered all the young black children? Remember the Alfred P. Murrow building in Oklahoma City? Remember a gentleman named Sin Cho from Seoul, South Korea? I certainly hope at least some of my fellow members remember at least one of these stories / people.

Lets see here now. When the Black children were being murdered it was widely believed/thought that some White Anglo Saxon Judeo Christian KKK member or someone close to this, might be the murder suspect. He was a Black male murderer.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: On April 19, 1995 a lone bomber disrupted the tranquil lifestyle Oklahomans enjoy. He set off a bomb that killed or injured almost 1000 humans. The immediate thoughts were terrorists from abroad were responsible. Well yes I guess he was from abroad. He wasn't raised in Osage county, Oklahoma. He wasn't even Muslim or Iraqi. He was a Caucasian male. Born in the U.S.A. Trained in the U.S Army. You know the same Army that our men and women in Iraq today were trained by.

Sin Cho,born in South Korea, immigrated to the U.S.A. after serving in the South Korean Army. Volunteered for the U.S. Army, now mind you he volunteered. He didn't have to serve ,He Volunteered. He wanted to serve his adopted country. He is now a successful businessman in Washington State. He is also my friend.

Why my rant: Simple!!! We can't judge others of a race by what one does, nor can we judge guns by individuals who use them incorrectly. The Blacks in Georgia weren't killed with a gun, he used a knife and ropes I believe. McVeigh didn't use a gun,he used fertilizer. You know stuff farmers use to make crops grow. O.K. the gunman at Virginia Tech. did use a gun. I don't believe the guns caused the problem! We could have taken the guns out of this madman's hands. We couldn't take the hate out of his mind and heart.
Should we run U-Haul out of business because not only once was a vehicle owned by U-haul, used for terrorist actions against Americans but twice. I don't believe so. We can only judge people by their actions not their race or religion. Now I have to admit I can not and never will agree with the Muslin faith. The fact that you don't believe the same way doesn't make you a terrorist. Terrorist actions make you a terrorist!!
Just wanted to put my $100.00 worth in . To dang long for .02 worth.

I thought this was interesting:

www.roanokefirearms.com/

Website Is Temporarily Down

Note from all of us at Roanoke Firearms:

To those of you who came to this site to send messages of encouragement -- we appreciate your concern, kindness, and goodwill. We are as troubled by this trajedy as much as anyone, except, of course, those who lost friends or loved ones,
and your words of support mean a great deal to us.

To those of you who came here to send hateful emails -- you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how misguided and inappropriate it may be. How many of you called the company who sold Timothy McVeigh the diesel fuel or fertilizer he
used to make the bomb in Oklahoma City, or the company who rented him the Ryder truck? Should we outlaw diesel fuel and trucks? How many of you read about a drunk driver who crosses the center line and kills a family, then call the
dealership who sold him the car? Should we outlaw automobiles? If we ban silverware, do you think there would be no more obesity?

One individual bears the responsibility for the heinous acts committed at Virginia Tech, and that is Cho Seung-Hui. If you think otherwise, you have not thought this through. Please be adult enough to reach out and help
someone in need, rather than leaving anonymous, vitriolic emails on our site.

God bless us all.

Ratings, thats all they care about. The media has always been biased against gun owners and nothing gets their message across better than the shock factor. The other night I was watching NBC Nightly News and Brian Williams was interviewing President Bush. One of the first questions he asked was "What are we going to do about all of these guns?" I voted on every media sourced gun control poll I could find, sometimes multiple times. In every case the majority was against it. Funny how quickly those polls disappear when they don't get the result they hoped for...
