Funny Money? was in the grocery store just a bit ago, checking out and the check out girls and manager were going on and on about a couple of US 1 dollar bills. I ask and the manager said they were counterfeit and a very good job!! She showed me the missing line in the off set center the difference in the printing and on and on. She was so proud that she had caught the bad bills!!

I took the one dollar bills from her and turned them over. they were b&w or gray on the back!! Looked like a pretty good scan from a b&w scanner and printer. Dead give away!! I ask her why do you think we call them green backs? She didn't believe me, so I pulled out my billfold and showered her about 8 bills ALL green on the back!! Told her to look in her cash drawer.. They were all green on the back!

We walked away shaking our heads..

Jeeze, where do the stores get these people?

Reminds me of the counterfeit story that revolves around a $2 bill.

"But officer, it has to be counterfeit, IT'S A $2 BILL!!!!"

My wife got paid on saturday and when she went to the bank to deposit the money they found a counterfit 50 dollar bill. The money had come from another bank in town. How the hell does one bank catch it and the other does not? Our bank said ALL banks run the 50's and 100's through a infra red machine as well as mark the bills with a marker as soon as they come off the truck to be put into circulation. Then they are run through the same machine every morning or evening before the drawes are made up and at least at our bank all 100's and 50's are checked when they are deposited. Now we are out 50 bucks because the guy my wife works for said its not my fault and his bank says its not there fault and our bank says they had to keep it and turn it in life is just not fair sometimes.
