Default Bad Day?

I am new to this forum and I keep seeing posts by a Bruce Flinch. At the end of each post is this thought.
"A bad day @ the Range, is better than a good day @ work."
I am familiar with the concept of "a good day at work". They may be rare but I have known that experience. However I find myself somewhat bewildered and confused by "a bad day at the range". Since this an experience with which I am unfamiliar could someone please explain what a bad day at the range could possibly be. Unless he shoots himself.

My guess of a bad day would be.........

1. Colder that a well diggers arse.....

2. Raining like a cow wizzin on a flat rock....

3. So crowded it was almost belly button to arse hole....

4. One of the days you just couldn't hit yer arse with both hands,

or a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle....

Just to mention a few that I can think of.....

When you waste a WHOLE bunch of EXPENSIVE ammo doing EVERYTHING right and your groups look like you were shooting buckshot...and you find out your mounts are loose or some other equipment issue made it a wasted day....

Or what's even WORSE...

When you can find absolutely NO reason to blame it on except headspacing problems with that big nut right behind the trigger....

Polish, I keep trying to tell you, if you were shooting Mausers instead of Mosins you wouldn't have so many days like that.

Doesn't take much to get a good old rifle argument going does it?

I think that's why I like it here so much; I can laugh at those who haven't seen the light of the ENFIELD.

Rosie hit it on the head!

Take today for example. Had our monthly IPSC match today. 6 stages.

Stage 1, Popper activates 2 drop-turners. Didn't figure out in time which drop turner moved first. D'oh! But the scorekeeper didn't record the time, I got a reshoot!! 5 scoring shots in 4.47 seconds from a draw. Woo Hoo!

Stage 2, 6 Poppers @ 30 yds. Took 8 shots in 9 sec. Not too bad.

Stage 3 & it goes downhill from here!
Ended up 12th overall of 40 shooters. (Was 3rd overall last month)

Still better than going to work!

Welcome RSM!

well, my only bad day at the range is when I arranged to meet some friends for an afternoon shoot, I packed my toys with care, made sure I had my hearing and eye protection, drinks, smokes and paper targets...drove an hour and a half to this range....only to find out I had forgotten all my ammo at home.....a true homer simpson "DOH"

A bad day at the range could also mean just that the ammunition you are shooting was made in Albania....

Those funny faces aren't really funny faces, they just signify DOUBLE eye protection if possible....

As far as ‘seeing the light’ with Enfield, Mosin or Mauser, for me it’s cheap surplus shooing ammo. Last time I looked ‘the light’ was 8 mm Mauser.

A bad day at the range is when your ear plugs fall in..
