it is not a complete firearm, but this upper is far better in accuracy than my 10/22, Rem M-51 and two other .22LR rifles.
![]() you can use Ciener mags or the best one is the "Black Dog" mag, it is a full size mag that looks like the 30 rnd. AR-15 mag. |

I bought a 10-22 years ago and need to rebarrel it and restock it too. I have two Browning telescopic sights hanging around: a 4 power and a 3x9 zoom. I think I will put the 4x on the 10-22 when it grows up. Ibought it off a trash/treasures store where they offered to include ammo with each gun sold. He was out of 22 ammo so he tossed in 3 boxes of 38 special rn with the gun which cost either $29 or $39. I also bought a .36 caliber black powder revolver from him for about 30 and got 3 more boxes of 38 sp
But my favorite "rifle" is the Medalist whichI love using at the hundred yard distance at the range. I wish I could make a removable stock for it. ( I bought it with no ammo but it was list price when list was 125.00) Amazingly 125 was prolly more in current dollars than the thou or so for a collectors piece. For strictly fun shooting (plinking, etc.) it's a 10/22; for accuracy it's any Anschutz.

My fav is the one I have 10/22 stainless (just got it used). It is changeable, upgradeable, and can be as unique as I am. I've had it for about a week and a half. First LR I've owned. We had a really calm day out today. after zeroing the scope I put 3 shots in the bull, all overlapping each other ( at 50 yds). Not bad for out of the box 7 years ago with no mods.
My avatar is a 88' Toyota 4runner shortened 16 inches, chopped, tubed, 529 gears with Detroit lockers front and rear, twin t-cases courtesy of Marlin Crawler. Final drive ratio 100:1. Gee I don't know why anybody would want to modify something you can buy off the shelf. |

Bought a Ruger 10/22 way back about 25 years ago. Put a 25 round banana clip on it and went to town on a wily and challenging foe, namely the California Grey Ground Squirrel. I roamed hill and dale in search of my cunning prey. Never used a scope. Always had a pair of binoculars, and when I had him fixed, nailed him with open sights. These shots were always at a range of 50 yards plus. Now those hills are subdivisions. I guess that's progress. TJ

Let's see....is it my Winchester 75? My BSA Martini MkIII? My Savage-Anschutz Mark 10? My Mossberg 144 LSB? Perhaps my Remington 513-T? Or maybe my Stevens 416? Why not my CZ 452 Lux?
I guess my favorite .22 is the one I am holding. ![]()

First post here!!!
My favorite is my BRNO Model 2. This was my father's rifle. It is very very accurate. It was made in 1956 in Czechoslovakia by Zbrojovka BRNO N.P. I have compared it with my Winchester semi-auto .22 which is also very accurate but the BRNO is far superior in accuracy IMHO. ![]() ![]() The ant in the second photo just happen to be there... it is not intended as comparison ![]() Last edited by robsalguz; 02-03-2009 at 08:36 PM.. I still have a Browning BL-22, grade 1 I bought in 1982. It's in about 99% condition. Looks great, shoots the same!

My favorite .22 rifle is my Savage Model 29B. I got it for Christmas in 1960. It still looks great and shoots even better. Don't need no stinking scope either. I remember years ago walking through a hayfield with my buddy and way up ahead there was a solitary dandilion sticking up. I stopped and raised my Savage. He started to laugh, and I fired at it. For a second nothing happend, then the dandilion slowly fell over. HAH!

I didn't read all of the posts. I think I saw my .22 mentioned once, a Savage Mark II. Don't really know how good it shoots. I only just received it from a friend recently and was hoping to hear good things about it before I take it out. My favorite is a Browning .22 auto-loader that I inherited from my uncle a couple of years ago. I know it is deadly on squirrels.

1941 Marlin Model 81-DL 24" Barrel, Bolt action, tube mag, .22 S-L-LR, Williams sights adj for elevation&windage.
When firing CB's one can hear the pin strike the rim and the bullet strike the trap. When I fire CB's in shorter barrels (even 22") there is still percussion noise. I could, in theory, shoot at bullet traps in my basement with no one ever knowing a gun was being fired. (But I would never violate any local laws against discharging in or near a permanent structure. )Last edited by 94z07; 02-28-2009 at 10:04 AM.. |

Unfortunately, that is a more difficult question to answer than perhaps it should be.
I like my Marlin 39A because it was my first gun. I like my Ruger 10/22 because, with the Green Mountain barrel and Kidd trigger, it is such a precise gun to play with. I like my Marlin 39M because it is a good substitute for practicing for CAS, and is just plain fun to shoot. It was the one I used yesterday. |

The first 22 i ever had was a Remington Nylon 66 to me it was the best shooting 22 i ever used, bought it when i was 12-13 paid $40.00 and had to put it on layaway and just pay on it as i had the money to. I loved shooting that little 22

My Marlin 81D is my favorite because it is heavy, has a long 24" barrel, and its bolt action lets me shoot .22 CB shorts with no noise or feed problems.
My Winchester 290 is my favorite because it is semi-auto, light and feeds short and long rifle with no feed issues. I want to add a Marlin 39a because it will be my favorite because of its lever action and legenary status. I also want to add a High Standard Flite King because its pump action will make it my favorite. Oh and I kinda have an emotional attachment to the brand. ![]() |

I have two, depending on what I'm using them for.
I love the perfect balance and feel of a CZ when shouldered, and I also prefer irons to scopes in a plinking situation...so for that I grab my CZ 452 Lux. When I'm shooting paper target games or dueling trees, I reach for the Savage Mk II that I bought for my daughter. It's scoped with a Bushnell and the synthetic stock also makes me not worry so much about dings or scratches. |
