BlackGun, thanks a bunch for posting the picture..
This is my latest purchase, also my last for awhile. I`ll have to restock bank account..
It`s an 80 series stainless Government, new in the box, the engraving was done by Vernon Wagoner of Mesa, AZ, I think..
I`ll have to get a letter from Mr. Wagoner to confirm this. Really think it needs Ivory grips, wife thinks stock grips are just fine, but she knows Ivory will cost another $200 bucks..
My #4 son thinks black Buffalo Horn....Give me your opinion..
Thanks for looking, just wanted too share this one..Thanks again Steve...........

Larry "E" Me and I'll give you the name of my dealer. They only makes grips (over 700 different guns styles in stock) I have purchased 7 or 8 sets from him. anything from plain Jane to exotic endangered species. Ivory scrimshaw around $100.00
Frankenstine has imitation pearl, $39.95 and really stand out. Just my humble opinion though. Worth an e-mail to him for a price quote. Your 45 is indeed beautiful. I'll tell you like I told Sam, I'll trade ya ole meantome for it.

I agree with Doc. Ivory would look great on this pistol.

I think anything in a dark color would look great on this gun. It would blend in better stting off the hues and shadows of the engravings. Maybe something in a mauve or lavender.

www.boonetrading.com/ScrimPatterns2.html

Scrimshaw ($30 per panel) X 2 panels
C4-A) COLT 45 Auto Gov -$25 = $85.00

Larry for real bone Ivory and 2 scrimshawed engravings $85.00 is a good price and the grips are pretty
Larry I would send this picture to the dealer I told you about and ask him what his price would be for the same grips, just for fun, it's free to ask!

Also checkout www.sidryan.com./price.html for price comparisons

I`ve got a few pair of Sid Ryan grips..and they look just like white plastic grips with some drawing on them, not on this Colt........
The way I`m reading Boone`s site is, elephant ivory plain with not much grain, good for scrimshaw @$150.00 a pair, plus $30.00 per side for the scrimshaw= $210.00..They got too be the real stuff on this one.
I`ll contact your guy tomorrow.....Thanks, Gunny6
