I only belong to this forum....I have checked out a few and this is the one I "belong" to. All kinds of ages, vets, non prior service gun nuts, very smart people who give good advice, have about the same opinions as I and for the most part "love" the current democrats.

It's not really that important to me. Of course, how you like your hamburger isn't altogether that important either. I guess that's a question that can be applied to just about any thread on here. I'm not sure how much satisfaction a person would receive if they were to ask it on every occasion, it's certainly worth a shot tho.

I belong to a couple of other firearm forums and a couple of political discussion forums, I haven't contributed much to them lately. The political ones are either to flooded with members or bombard you with comments, very little discussion.

The odd ones I don't spend time in, but have spent a minute or two reading them. Some members of those character are a pretty sad commentary on society as a whole. They may be outnumbering people of integrity, then again they probably aren't. I try to have faith in mankind, but a lot of boneheaded degenerates make it difficult sometimes. Hold your head up and keep the faith is about all you can do.

I belong to edcforums.com. Great site, but I find it odd that some people on there are obsessed with what/how they carry their everyday items. (many carry firearms, which is the main reason I joined, but they have some great sections regarding flashlights, knives, bags, etc)

One recent thread was something like "I've freed up some space in my right-front pocket and need suggestions on what to put in it"

Other than that, nothing too crazy. My poker group has a message board, and I also belong to a mountain biking forum.

Marlin, I didn't know you were interested in railroad history! So am I! We need to get into a discussion about that, maybe in the History Forum. Most of my interest centers on the land title problems that arose from the building of the railroads, especially the main line, transcontinental trackage that was laid beginning in 1862 under the act of patent.

As for other forums, this is the only one I belong to. Frankly, most others I have encountered are either boring, allow flaming, or are more interested in selling you something than in an intellectual discussion. TFF is the only place to be!

My railroad history is rather narrow, Pistol. New England and Appalachian railroads, emphasis on the New Haven empire, and Steam era, 20th century through the mid-fifties.....

I also was very much a part of the Southern/Norfolk Southern Steam program while it lasted. Frequently fires the big A Class locomotive and occasionally did the same with 611..... I felt it quite a privilege to be involved in steam forty years after its demise !!!!!!

The only other forum I spend any real time on is http://www.oilburners.net. This is a forum mostly for diesel pickups but everything diesel is discussed. Most of the guys started out on Ford-Diesel.Com but it changed names and then personalities so most of us jumped ship. I have a '94 Ford F-250 IDI Turbo Diesel and I've learned more from the diesel forums about my truck and diesels in general than I ever could have on my own. I was on Ted Nugent's forum but I forgot my password or some deal and e-mailed trying to get back in, never got a response and I think it's a subscriber deal now so I have no interest in paying for a message board or forum.
