I feel the same way about my PT1911.
Zero failures to feed, fire or eject and priced competitively. The only initial change I've made to mine so far is to replace the factory plastic grips with a pair of Hogue wrap arounds. Congratulations on your fine purchase. http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/index.php?board=25.0 |

For me this was resolved a few months ago. I narrowed my choices down to another 1911 or a .44 Magnum. I bought the .45. I decided to buy the .44 next time.
Of course, I usually go in to the store with the intent of "I will buy this one" and then get distracted and buy something else.

Well, since I have relapsed and fallen off the wagon with gun buying it is a tossup between a .357 Sig and an S&W magnum caliber wheel gun. Some years back I apparently suffered a temporary mental meltdown and started selling guns. From 40 + down to about 10 or 11. You will be happy to know that I have fully recovered my senses and am replenishing my supply of guns, although at considerable increase in cost and with much self butt-kicking.
I have to say that selling off a good portion of my guns did help me recover financially from a divorce and scrape up the cash for down payment on another house. (I'm a generous man....gave the other house away, albeit with urgings of the court) |

anyone who gets a sig 220 will hopefully get a better one than my roommates...the takedown lever/pin broke the other day while we were out shooting
it was purchased as a factory refurb and only has around 1500 rounds through it |

I want something in .44 caliber. Either a Charter .44 Special or a Taurus/Ruger .44 Magnum.

Ammo has become very expensive. Since I'm trying to qualify in the Super Senior/Production division under USPSA/IPSC rules, I'm ordering a CZ Custom Shop 75 SP-01. That's a 9mm and can only shoot in the minor ammo class. If I shoot as much as I anticipate, the savings will eventually pay for the gun.

I'm leaning toward the Taurus 4410 "The Judge". 45lc or .410 five rounds of either or mix it up. #6 shot up close, 00 or 000 at longer range, slug a little
farther yet then 45lc and lastly if it fits 45/70 long range. Steve |

I've got two, a Carry SAS and a Supermatch. They're both just what I expected: Accurate as all heck and flawless performers.
I haven't heard of the takedown/lever pin issue that thunderstruck507's roommate had. That's a new one on me.

I need a small, reliable pocket gun for summer carry, the 2-1/2" Taurus .357 mag that I carry in a Don Hume belt slide holster in winter is too big and heavy for concealing under light clothes. I was sold on the little Keltec 9mm until I did some reading on the Keltec forum. Even the Keltec fans admit that they aren't very reliable and have had many mechanical problems. I'm thinking now about either a Taurus or S&W aluminum frame Bodyguard style .38 snubnose. I want a snag-free pocket gun but I also want the ability to fire it single action, which rules out the totally covered hammer Centenial style models. I have found a like new S&W Airweight Bodyguard at a local pawnshop but the pawnbroker thinks it's worth more than I do. A gun store near here has a Taurus version of the same basic revolver for less money than the used Smith, but I have heard that Taurus quality has slipped a lot recently and their service dept is very, very slow to repair and return a gun sent back under warranty. Any comments on that by owners of recently built Taurus guns?

I've already ordered mine - a USFA Rodeo, 4 3/4" barrel, in .44 Special (custom order, extra charge. I've always wanted a single action and I've always wanted a .44 Special, so now I'll get both.

I just bought an S&W model 40 classic, Model 14 classic, and a model 58 classic. They were reintroduced and I figure they will be good investments. I haven’t shot them yet and I may never I haven’t decided.

Our road opens (after a long winter here along the Yukon) in April and we're heading into Fairbanks for supply run. Bought a Stagg piston 15, a 338, and a 5 inch S&W 460 over the winter. I traded a guy on the river a few years back for a 10 inch 460. He had run outta ammo and I had a 45-70 with ammo. I saw this guy hit a 12 inch target every other shot at 400 yards with this 460, stunned me. Now, I can't do that but I can hit caribou at 200 yards from the truck with that 460; I like her.
Don't kick like the 500 either, with the 200 grain hornady, but has a wallop with the 395 corbons. I had this little German girl shooting it along the road last summer with corbons, no joke. Those greenie Euro bikers luv to shoot guns in Alaska, can't figure how they don't have any at home. Anyway, we have 44's, 480's, and 460. I decided to shoot this well pipe, 3/8 thick. The 44 mag barely scratched it, 480 dented in some, and 460 hornady 200 grain blew quarter size hole right through. The 395 corbons only nickel hole. I guess that 200 hornady is really flyin. The 44 & 448 were hornaday custom ammo also. Here's the pipe. I luv those 460's nowadays. ![]() |

My next will be a Ruger SR9-c compact version of the SR9 9mm auto.
I'm getting the all-black version and have one on layaway at my local dealer. It's a gorgeous weapon and the internet reviews are very favorable. It is a new model and isn't in the Ruger Catalogue yet. Last edited by Danwin22; 04-22-2013 at 07:30 PM.. |

Ditto to the Ruger SR9C. One of the locals doesn't have one as I called yesterday.

My dealer has a few of the shiny top versions in stock but only one black one so I grabbed it.
I think once people start seeing this Ruger SR9-c they will be very hard to find. I took my wife with me when I put it on layaway and it's the first gun she's ever gotten excited over. |
