I have inherited an Iver Johnson pistol recently and do not know what caliber or anything else about it. Stamped on top of the barrel is:
IVER JOHNSONS ARMS & CYCLE WORKS FITCHBURG MASS USA The serial number found underneath the wooden grip is H26419 It is a top break, six shot model. A picture of it is provided. Any information about it and how much it might be worth would be appreciated. Thank you!

you have a large frame third model 'safety automatic hammer revolver'. serial number H26419 was manufactured in 1920. there were 5,600 of this model manufactured that year. the large frame third model (manufactured 1909-1941) was only offered in two calibers. the 6 shot version is chambered for the 32 S&W Long and the 5 shot version is chanbered for the 38 S&W. the one piece "western walnut" grip and 4 inch barrel length were extra cost options. this grip was very very popular as it is seen quite often on the third model.
your 6 shot 32 S&W long revolver was advertized in the iver johnson catalogs and other advertizing as the "iver johnson 32 special". value of a third model in 85 to 90% condition with the extra features (grips and barrel length) would be about $250/275 retail. bill
