Default Pictures

Due to the fact that I have been involved with an extended Honey Doo list lately I haven't had the time to get out and take pictures . Thus I can only show pictures that have been taken while I was working on the 28X18 foot addition to our small cabin. Here is one I hope you enjoy. Crp you already have the MPGs that I took of this lady and young one. The picture was taken on the 29th of Aug. Oh yea I had to put in one of nuisance our main pain doe. She is about 20 feet from my doorway as this picture was taken. Yes she is a pain but she raises two little ones every year and they provide me with hours each year of enjoyment watching their antics. They are just little kids getting into mischief. Pistol I hope to get back to feeding my Bears shortly and will attempt to get some pictures of them to post. catfish

Great ones, Cat, as usual! Now y'all be careful feeding those bears. I hear they are right fond of catfish . . . for dinner, that is.

Good pix, Cat.! Yes when feeding the bears, just leave the pickinect basket on the blanket & hide. Do not feed the bears by hand!

Nice pics, although I see those foolish things all the time around my place...in and out of season. Never stops me from having a bead on them though....Don't shoot out of season though.....Just wish I could

Good pictures Catfish. Here is one I took today the opening day of firearms bear season and archery deer, elk and moose. I was hunting moose guess what I see. Nice black bear but I hadn't bought a license. So I took a picture.

Great picture Whip, I like the terrain where your hunting. Looks a lot like Eastern Washington. I used to hunt there a lot. Bear season is open here but I don't want to harvest one until the weather cools off somewhat. Good hunting to you. catfish

Whip, I notice what appears to be an old fence, is this an old homestead, if so is there any water close to it? Just being my nosey self. I enjoy hunting the old homesteads as they have a little bit of extra forage and cover normally. catfish

Catfish, the bear is about 400 yards from a set of corrals and an old cabin. He is right on the creek bottom though its hard to see in the photo because the creek drops and narrows considerable where he is at. 1/2 mile above this spot and 1/2 mile below this spot are some large patches of willows. So you were right on with your observations.

I didn't shoot a moose for same reason you don't want to shoot a bear. It was 80 degrees by 9AM Sat when I took the bear picture. Way to warm to put a big animal on the ground just before the heat of the day. Here is a pic of a couple of small mule deer I saw Sat.

Nice pictures again Whip, I agree with you on the size of the Mulies. The one on the left appears to be about 22 plus inches, maybe 24. Judging on the size of his horns compared to his ears. Would you guess I am close? Either way they are both nice bucks. I am going to go Elk hunting shortly as season opened on the 30th of August. I have a small female Black Bear hitting one of my feeding stations here on the property but no large males. I intend to harvest a nice sized one shortly. will post the pics as soon as I get him. Talk to you later. Again thanks for the pictures. May have to try to talk you into coming over here before I get to old to walk in the woods to look for game. Yea that will happen the day before they put me into a very hot spot, shucks I gotta get ready to give the Devil his dues, so cremation seems the only way to go. BUt there isn't any hurry on that one I hope. catfish

Great pics, Whip! Venison steaks on the hoof!

Hey Catfish, you said you were going bear hunting. Here's a couple of ya:

Q: How do you tell the difference between a black bear and a grizzly bear?
A: When you see the bear, climb a tree. If it climbs up the tree and eats you, it's a black bear. If it knocks the tree down first and then eats you, it's a grizzly bear.

*****

Two hikers round a corner and come face to face with an enormous bear that rises up on its haunches and roars at them.

"What do we do?" the first hiker asks.
"Run!"
"Do you really think you can outrun a bear?"
"No, but I can outrun you."

We have a saying here in Wyoming where baiting bears is legal:

A fed bear is a dead bear!

Here is a pic of mommy and baby moose I took while moose hunting yesterday. No luck finding a good bull but I have another 52 days of looking available.
