Favorite 22 mag & 22 mag ammo? - The Firearms Forum

1st post and just curious what your favorite 22 mag rifle and ammo is? I have a tricked out marlin 882ssv with a Basix trigger, tiger wood richards microfit thumbhole stock and a 6x24 scope + harris bi pod. I will post picks later!!
I have shot a couple thousand rounds threw this rifle and its a tack driver.
I have shot 1/2 groups and less at 100yds off the bench using CCI 30gr V-max and Federal 50gr HP. My rifle shoot all the following ammo really great except three types of ammo.

Likes: Federal, winchester, Remington and CCi 30 thru 50grain bullets.
Hates: Federal 50 grain Gold dots, CCI 30gr +V, Winchester 45grain bullets.

Overall the SSV will group 1" or less with most ammo and it's the most accurate rifle that I own inside 100 yards and not to mention that the 22 magnum is my Favorite caliber.

How does your 22 mag shoot and what brand of ammo do you like best for hunting and target?

CZ American and it likes just about all 40 gr ammo.

I have always like CZ rifles but I have not owned one yet! There may be one in the future not sure of the caliber though. How does your CZ shoot? The CZ is put together better than my Marlin just wonder how it shoots. Does your CZ American have a longer barrel than 20"? I was looking at the Ruger with a 24" barrel to toy around with and wonder if the Velocity would improve in a rimfire? Thanks for the post!!

I have a CZ lux in 22mag. 25" barrel and it likes Win. Supreme well enough. Shot 1.25" groups at 125yd. (thats where I sight my Hornets at) for 5 shots, box stock with just the pull weight spring set at bottom of the range. With only a 2-7x Burris compact. It might shoot a bit better with more power and thinner cross hairs. For me this is my "truck gun" and will do 95% of what needs done here on my farm. By the way I think the last time we chrono'ed the supremes they did 2300+ fps. REALLY hard on the prarie dogs out to about 150yds. or a little better. Ferrel cats don't like them much either!
