Hi
Can the Marlin 22LR Magnum 982VS shoot "regular" 22LR and 17HMR and 17Mach2 as well? By the way, is it a good rifle for target shooting? Thanks

NO
Never shoot any round in a firearm that it is made for! It could damage you the firearm or the person standing near you! Now with that said there are some that have / can shoot more then on cartridge. A 357 magnum will safely shoot 38 specials and there are some others. a 22 magnum is NOT one that is designed to shoot other rounds.

Yes, but in the owner’s manual, Marlin says this rifle can use both ammos !!! I don’t really understand, unless they’ve made a mistake

If your manual is like mine, on page 2 (I think) under ammunition notes it has "Your rifle is chambered for 22 rimfire, 22
Winchester Magnum Rimfire, 17 Hornady Magnum Rimfire, or 17 Mach 2. These cartridges are shown below, actual size. None of these cartridges are interchangeable with any other." that should be a big OR. |
