Default Need Help Identifying Rifle this Model is Holding

Any help appreciated. Apparently from around WWI. Most likely a prop, but what rifle does it most closely represent?

Thanks ahead of time for any help!

the pic is o Gerri Noonan ( tom noonans mom !)

the rifle is a M1917 short lee enfield made in the USA

The M1917 Enfield, the "American Enfield" (frequently misidentified or mislabeled as the "P17", "P1917", or "Pattern 1917"), formally named "United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917" was an American modification and production of the British .303 caliber P14 rifle developed and manufactured during the period 1917-1918.

Excellent! That's really knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks so much. There should be a way to compensate folks for help on this forum as I sure don't have any knowledge to share...at least here!

It is either a P-14 Enfield, or an M1917 "Enfield". Depends on whether it's chambered for the .303, or the .30/06.

dont quote me on this , seems some started a protest about these so they where replaced with drawings , these where the replacement Victory girls and the far better known ones thanks to some wowsers , but hey .. i complain about the slide of morals too ..

vargas was the best known artist and left and joined Esquire magazine ..

but i'm a big fan of his bomber art and how i know about it all , he painted the B-17's we bought from you folks

That's a U.S model 1940, don't recognize the club she's holding!
