hey guys, I want to build my own 1911 from scratc. What are the recommended components I should look for?

What things should I expect?

Where do I find good reference material?

With my limited knowledge, I did fit a NM slide, NM barrel and bushing to a Colt frame years ago. The gun shot much better than originally, but it wasn't a custom shop job.



I hope I'm as "dead" at 90 as 1911's are! For You LTS!

Glad to hear it LTS! Couldn't imagine conversing much with someone who didn't like a 1911! I can take a joke. Gotta Springfield too.

The wife and I are headed out to the river tomorrow too. The Chattahoochee River. You know the one that Alan Jackson sings about. Gonna spend a while there and drive back and forth to work when we wanta work.
