Default I'm scared about the election

It seems like it's going to be bad news for gun owners no matter who you vote for. Every time I hear about another shooting in the news and they talk about "assault rifles" I get pissed off because it's just scaring uneducated people and making things worse.

The crazy anti-gun laws that they are proposing looks a hell of a lot like the "war on drugs". These guys know it's not going to stop crime, they're doing it to get more sheep to vote for them. Where there's a demand there will be a supply, laws or no laws, and criminals will always find a way to get guns. But we can't do anything to protect ourselves.

I don't have a crazy firearm collection, just what I consider the basics - two handguns, a combat shotgun and an AK. My wife an I are very much into training with them and we receive instruction from a SWAT officer about twice a month in addition to our weekly range sessions.

I'm scared about what the very near future will bring.

What should I do?

Vote, write letters, talk to people, circulate practical info on myspace....

anything you do, including nothing, could go wrong...so just do something.......

vote!

Nephilim, do what the rest of us will ultimately do; move to a rural environment, pay for your weapons in cash, avoid all the paperwork, and speak only on demand!
They will ask, it is sure, about the arms you own, some time, down the road; would it not be nice, to 'fess up' to a sporting shotgun, and nothing more, because everything else is 'out of town' , and 'without paper'?
My own 'arsenal' is a bit more basic; short tailed 'cow cogs' with attitude, and a couple of rifles to keep the 'varmints' (2 footed!) at bay, if the dogs need a bit of help!
My 'Heelers' do not much like people; they bite even me, with regularity, but they do like their home, their turf, their job, and so, out perform any 'alarm company' I've ever seen!
My 50 pound dogs regularly work cattle, 30 times their weight, and offer no complaint, for the job; a 200 pound man, for a couple of them, is a 'walk in the park' to 'herd'!
True enough, they may 'mark him', in doing their 'thing', and I'll take all the heat, if need be, for that; I have come home, too many times, to a 'looted' house, often trashed, after looting, to have much sympathy for thieves.
They all have current shots, but no county licence, as they, like firearms, are my right, and become less useful, when too easily located!
Register nothing you can avoid, and keep a 'low profile', where possible, and do for your own, first.
Even the 'Worst case', 'Billary Clinton' has no news that I will fear, as my dogs and I are easily better adapted to rural survival than anything she could dream up!
They love to work, and work well; I am the 'meal ticket', so they 'work' for me.
This may not be the answer for which you are looking, but certainly works well, for me; next time you see a pickup, with five or six dogs, aboard, I guess you'll have to wonder if it's me, driving!

If you belive them then they are right if you vote for the guy you want to win it is not a waste. He is the only canidate who wants to kill the governments power and make it live by the constitution, ALL the constution

In My view Fred Thompson Or Ron Paul,
Either would be a good President and both are Pro-Gun.

Don't go out on a limb just yet now...I mean, with our "fearless leader" George W. Bush at the helm, it might not matter what the outcome of the election is. Why, with his Directive 51 and all, I'm sure that some big event will happen around October 2008 that will put him in control until he get's tired of ruining (oops, i meant running) s**t. Here's a short excerpt from Wikipedia.

"The National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive (National Security Presidential Directive NSPD-51/Homeland Security Presidential Directive HSPD-20, sometimes called simply "Executive Directive 51" for short), signed by United States President George W. Bush on May 4, 2007, is a Presidential Directive which specifies the procedures for continuity of the federal government in the event of a "catastrophic emergency." Such an emergency is construed as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions."

I made bold a few of the words that seemed important. Come on...ANY incident? What kind of s**t is this? ANYTHING could happen in ANY country...and if he thought that it affected us in some way....BOOM automatic dictatorship. Oh, the joys of our country. I know I'm probably gonna get blasted for this by some, but oh well.
--Google Directive 51 and check out some of the vids. I had one, if i can find it, I will post.

But, even if he stays in, our country will probably turn into a military state and no guns will be allowed anyways...Alright, I'm done for the time being.

**EDIT** But if i had to choose, RON PAUL 08!!!!!!

Buy more guns! Stock up on ammo. Buy a reloader & start rolling your own. If you buy similar caliber guns, you can reloads lots of ammo & shoot it in all of them.
Is 3- .357 revolvers too many? nope!
