Default Dan Wesson Arms 357 Magnum value?

Years ago my father gave me a Dan Wesson Arms 357 Magnum. My wife does not want it in the house so I was interested in selling it. Here is all I know:

The barrel is about 7 1/8 inches long
Color is gunmetal blue/black
wooden handgrip with DWA metal insignia
six shooter
Barrel imprinted with Dan Wesson Arms CTG.
Gun body says Dan Wesson Arms Monson, Mass. USA followed by serial number

Looks new to me. Grip and body look perfect, barrel looks perfect from a foot away. If you look real close you can see a couple very surface scratches on the barrel.

Do you have any idea what this gun is worth?

Hi radtke64......welcome to TFF.

Need some more info to nail down which model you have.....

1) Fixed or adjustable sights?

2) Plain barrel or vented rib?

3) Standard or heavy barrel?

It would help if you can post some pictures of it.....full length, right & left sides.

Adjustable sight, I don't think it is vented. It has four holes on the top of the barrel when viewing from the side, but the barrel itself is enclosed.

I have no idea about whether or not the barrel is heavy.

You have a Monson-made Dan Wesson with a ventilated heavy barrel. These early Monson-made DWs are the most desireable and most valuable. Measure the barrel from where it touches the front of the cylinder to the very end. I'm guessing it's an 8 inch model.

To find a real-world value, go over to www.*********.com and type

Dan Wesson Monson

into the search feature. You might be pleasantly surprised. Steve.

It is a fairly big plus if you have the tool and the feeler gauge that came with it.
