Default If Obama wins?

Obama has sprung up on the political stage from out of nowhere. He has no political history. Where did he come from? Who pushed him into the lime light? What do we really know about the guy? He's like a second rate no name actor who got nominated for an academy award for a performance in a second rate movie, and now he's in the lime light and people are oooohhing and aaaaahhhing like he deserves to be our next President. This is insane. He's nothing more than a celebrity. And he's not offering any information on his political stands, convictions and beliefs or ideas.

It is possible that he could become our next commander in chief and he is a closed book.

If Osama Obama wins I will order sandbags & a load of sand to build blast revetments around my house. The next fight will be on our own shores if he wins.

A long-winded quote of a Democrat's view (which to me, isn't terribly partisan, in this instance):

Mr. Obama’s strength is his vision and charisma and the possibility that his election would heal divisions at home and around the world.

Mr. Obama’s years as an antipoverty organizer give him insights into one of our greatest challenges: how to end cycles of poverty. That front-line experience is one reason Mr. Obama not only favors government spending programs, like early-childhood education, but also cultural initiatives like promoting responsible fatherhood.

Then there’s Mr. Obama’s grade-school years in Indonesia. Our most serious mistakes in foreign policy, from Vietnam to Iraq, have been a blindness to other people’s nationalism and an inability to see ourselves as others see us. Mr. Obama seems to have absorbed an intuitive sensitivity to that problem. For starters, he understood back in 2002 that American troops would not be greeted in Iraq with flowers.

In politics, Mr. Obama’s preparation is indeed thin, though it’s more than Hillary Rodham Clinton acknowledges. His seven years in the Illinois State Senate aren’t heavily scrutinized, but he scored significant achievements there: a law to videotape police interrogations in capital cases; an earned income tax credit to fight poverty; an expansion of early-childhood education.

Thanks Lefty. I just finished watching Obama's speech's. And it hasn't changed my views at all.

He wants to leave Iraq to the hands of another dictator who will slaughter 100's of thousands when we leave just like what happened in Viet Nam when we left.

He wants to socialize medicine and healthcare.

He said nothing about stopping the illegal invasion of our country.

He talked against capitolism.

He talked against the oil companies

He continues talking about no child left behind in school which will never happen in our lifetime the way it's going now.

I would have been impressed if he had talked in favor of protecting our country from invasion by another country or illegal immigrants. In favor of teaching children in school that winning and losing is all part of life so get used to it. In favor of capitolism so strive to become the best you can be. That equality does not mean a hand out or government social program.

Obama wants socialism and I do not.

I am fully endorsing Barak Obama in his run for the Democrat nomination!

This endorsement is based on my core position for the 2008 election: No more Clintons; No more Bushes.

Setting aside his political views Obama seems to be a good man. Obama is a politician and therefore suspect. However, as far as politicians go, I think he is fairly honest and actually tries to put the country ahead of himself. I don't think he is nearly as corrupt as Monica's former boyfriend's wife, nor is he a would-be despot like the walking $5,000 haircut. Time will tell.

That being said I don't think Obama is qualified to be president. He simply doesn't have the experience, especially if foreign policy.

On the political side Michael G is correct, Obama is a socialist. He will most certainly attempt to enact policies that damage our freedoms and rights; however a President Obama will be much easier to defeat in the political arena than the Clinton machine. I think he will turn out to be more of a Carter; ineffective. Not that he can't do damage, especially in the area of SCOTUS nominations.

Remember, no Democrat is invincible in the general election. I would much rather see a good Republican in office, but it took a Carter to get a Regan. Could that happen again?

So how about you guys send me the dollar value of any social security and Medicare benefits you may at some point recieve?

You'd be doing your bit to live up to your true convictions, and I'd be really pleased, especially if you need any cancer surgery or serious hospital time in your old age. If you're in a Medicare plan managed by a private insurance company, I'd be particularly interested in hearing from you.

And actually, do have really have any health insurance? Maybe you and I could get married or something....(just kidding old boy)!!!!

Cool Re: If Obama wins?

Sounds like liberalism to the core there Lefty.

"I'm to lazy or stupid to buy health insurance so I demand the gov't pay my bills."

The Gov't DOES pay for my medical care because I am a 100% disabled combat veteran and they seem to think I EARNED it.

Don't mean to sound like I'm flaming ya Lefty, just statin' my opinion 'bout your opinion. I totally disagree with you.

If we can all just stick together on this, it will probably start a massive protest movement against creeping socialism! !!

I think some people are confused about "Social Security and Medicare", and "Welfare and Medicaid". I'm now 73 and in my working days there weren't the high paying jobs which are available today. I did work construction and had a gunshop and made a decent living but never got rich. I paid into social security and medicare all my working life which working people do. Welfare and medicaid is free to the non working poor (by choice or not) and the tax payers pick up the tab. Even after retirement you must still pay medicare premiums for which is deducted from your social security income, which is a retirement pension. The money paid into social security went into a fund which was supposed to be used for social security only but accumulated a surplus and the liberals decided to use some of these funds for welfare and medicaid which has now put social security in jeopardy.

First off I AM a repulican,

That said, Hillary represents THE real threat. Can you imagine her and Nancy Poloci talking about how to get guns away from us "guys"? We do not need these two running the country with old Bill running loose in the White house chasing skirts and telling these two women how to spin the lies they believe into the "truth". I believe that Obama IS a uniter, not a divider as those two above would be. He will take the center road, and work with both sides of the isle. He will cool Poloci's VERY liberal views, and not let the liberals take control as they WILL if Hillary is in office. He has convinced me that he is not a going to be one sided and only listen to the Dems, but include repulicans as well. We need concensus as we have a lot of issues to deal with. I for one would love to see health care reform, as I am insured as an individule, not a group. We individules have been paying way to much, as the competition for health insurance is easy for corperations and large business that have many imployee's, and are only one stop for the insurance company. The repulican party should not be the "big business party" as I believe that small busines is JUST as important as the big guys. Tax breaks for the rich? We have been doing this for soo long it no longer works, as they have not been doing with the money what they were supposed to. I'd rather have Obama deal with this as Hillary had the chance with health care and blew it big time. Obama strikes me as being a fair man, with the country's best interests in mind. I will vote for a repulican in the general election, but if we get Obama I'll be a damn sight happier than I would with Hillary. Oh and Bill, don't forget him and his "turd term" Sorry if you disagree, JMHO. Best reguards Kirk

If a polititian blinks they're getting ready to lie and if they're lips are moving, they are lying. I think we need a law that gives them a certain period of time to live up to all their promises or they get thrown out of office and all the money they raised and salaries they've drawn must be returned. I think a good retired Senior NCO or Chief, with a couple of clerks, could do the job better than the clowns we have in DC.

As for the candidates...I'm still trying to figure out which would be the lesser of the many evils!

We all know Hillary as president would be a major mistake. If she gets in you can kiss your firearms goodby and get ready for her federal health care program. And just what would that entail? Hillary is a socialist who wants total control over the masses. She can accomplish a large part of that through the health care program by denying benfits to those who don't comply with the qualification stipulations (which could be anything she deems necessary to control the population).
You can also get ready for a more powerful ACLU. Remember her history while in college.
Call me paranoid and you would be right. I get just as paranoid when a tornado gets closer to my front door.

I didn't like Obama from the get-go, and I like him even less since the information on his church and pastor have finally been aired. I cannot believe a person would attend a church (run by a radical racist for 15+ years) and not be affected or infected by the venom spewed unless he and his wife were already in agreement with the pastors views. If Obama (who appears to be an intelligent and educated man) didn't agree with the views of the pastor he and his family would have found another church to attend. But not only has he not left the church, he appointed his pastor as a member of his black advisory committee ( as stated on more than one national t.v. program). It means nothing that he has since removed his pastor as a member of the committee. So, I see Obama's official statement on t.v., with regard to his pastor as nothing more than political damage control to save his campaign. Song and dance.
I don't see Obama as a person who doesn't see color like he wants us to believe. And it has been said that his wife is a major player in his life. (fill in the blanks).

McCain: I don't like him. He was not my first, second or third choice. But I see him as the lessor evil. I do believe he will try to defend our country. I do believe he will not try to relieve us of our firearms. I do believe he will give amnesty to all the illegals including known criminals. I don't believe he will do anything about closing our borders.Other than that, who knows. He's a maverick.

OK, I finshed my rant. Sorry it took so long.
