how can you look up the yr a Winchester was made from it s/n # ?

I know you can call or e-mail a lot of manufactuers, but with Wichester shutting down the factory, I'm not sure with them.

I do know that if you post the first bit of the s/n on here (ex. A123XXX), there are several guys who hang around and have books to look that kind of thing up for you.
