Default HAD LAZER SURGERY TODAY...

I had my 1st lazer surgery today at the VA Hosp. in St. Looser.

An Oral surgeon trimmed up skin in the upper part of my mouth in prep.

for my new false toofers.

Took 1 tech to operate the lazer pooter and another tech to help the Surgeon.

I was amazed when he started cutting, that smoke was rising out of my mouth....

When he paused for a minute I said.....

"that's the 1st time I've smelled burning flesh in 40 years"......

when he went back to burning with the lazer, he told the tech to position

a wooden tounge depressor in a certain place so when the lazer burnt thru

it would hit it rather than my skin, sounds simple right........wrong.....

When it burnt thru, the tounge depressor started smoking more than my skin had...

Imagine a smoldering piece of wood stuck in yer mouth....wierd.....not to mention

trying to breathe with that acrid smoke being inhaled.

It's been about 3 hours now and the novacane hasn't wore off yet.....

The surgeon said "in a couple days you'll be calling me names"

I'm thinking.... "Gee thanks Doc... that's real damn comforting".....

well that's my sad tale of woe for today.....

If I post anything real stupid in the next few days.....( I mean more stoopid than usual)....

I can blame it on the Vicodin ....

<---------Having visions of Al as James Bond in "Goldfinger" as the laser cuts slowly toward his privates.

Does this mean I get to eat your share of the good stuff (like steak!) while you're stuck eating mashed taters and soup?

I hope things heal up quickly for you.

Thank you my friends for the good words....

Compared to the 6 teeth blasted out right before Turkey Day......

So far.... .......this has been a cake walk.

On the way home yesterday it was 72....by dark it was 17......

Built a fire, took some Vicodin, sipped some vino and was pretty comfortable.

Slept surprizing well without pain. We'll see how it goes today.

Had annoying wierd itchys last night, checked this morning.....sure enough...

a side effect....

Itchies better than pain! Now don't be operating any heavy equipment today. Stick with the coffee pot, electric razor & TV remote.

Al,

When the VA did my teeth in Boise I went into surgery with teeth and came out without any. They had to trim my bottom jaw bone up so the lower dentures would stay on.

Hurt for about a week and then was a lot better.

I am very happy with my new gov't toofers.
