I'm what people here would call a liberal, no matter what I might claim otherwise.
Until recently I felt that I'd much prefer McCain to Romney as president. However, it has occurred to me Romney sells himself as a technocrat. and if he happens to become president, he is more likely than McCain to be a pragmatist, rather than acting on purely ideological grounds. For example, in order to become governor of Mass, Romney favored abortion and gay rights. To become Republican nominee, he opposes abortion rights and gay rights. McCain, on the other hand, seems likely to stick with his principals, which, despite my relatively high regard for the man, I mainly disagree. As for Obama vs Clinton, I find it a more difficult choice. ---------

All the candidates are radical leftist commies except for Ron Paul. Do you prefer national or international socialism? Pick your favorite flavour of socialism and you will have your candidate. As far as I am concerned every one of them, except Ron Paul, should be hung until dead from the nearest tree for treason. regards, TheLiz |

McCain denies ever having a different former opinion, claims never to change, and attacks anyone who would ever imply such a thing as unpatriotic for daring to question him. Don't you know who I am?! I'm John Kerry..I mean McCain! I served in Vietnam! Yea, Yea. Mr. McCain deserves respect for his military service, and has mine. No one ever deserves the HELL ON EARTH he went through courtesy of the only Vietnam War War Criminals, contrary to the opinions of John Kerry, Hanoi Jane, John Mertha, a true DISGRACE to the name Marine. ONCE A MARINE always a Marine, EXCEPT JOHN MERTHA. But McCain thinks that, like John Kerry, he deserves the Presidency because of his service, and don't dare question him on any issues, or try to argue his former positions, because they don't exist. He has no use for the Republican Party, and considered leaving it before Jumping Jim became an independent and handed the Senate to Tom Daschle. Now he expects the party to willingly hand him the nomination and can't figure out why he is running into so many bumps in the road.

DCD - You sound just like me on a "mini-rant" about McCain. I respect his past service but he needs to realize most people can smell BS from miles away........
