how good was the stoner machine gun. seems the seals in NAM were the only ones that used it. one seal said becouse it was belt fed and semi light he liked tho fire power walking point.

The Stoner machine gun was an idea ahead of it's time. That niche, light machine gun firing the same round as the M-16 is now filled by the M249 "S.A.W." with U.S. forces.

Stoner was way lighter and had slower ROF.
SAW is nearly twice the weight and has better ROF.

good trade off, if you ask me, if you can hump all the ammo lol
loaded SAW+extra barrel= 30lb
+600rds
