without 'em

With the knowledge that unloaded guns kill people I always keep my .45 beside my bed with a loaded clip (no kids BTW) I have worries of of making the spring weak so I change clips every other night or so leaving maybe three rounds in the "unused clip" as a backup...You guys think this is the right way to go about correcting the problem? any other ideas?

CP,

No need to change that often, once a month is fine,
in fact if you are using a quality mag i.e. Colt/Wilson
etc., you can leave it loaded period, what causes a
mag to take a set faster is constantly loading and
unloading it.

Load it and leave it or change once a month, no less.

I found one of my mags that had been loaded over 20 years. Worked like a champ.

Ha ha... wow,
Well that is good news guys, although it means I'll have to find another excuse to fondle my baby, it depletes my worries altogether...Hmmmm, that means I can load up the rest of my clips too, you know in case an angry mob breaks into my home, or an elephant.
