OK, I got the bug for a new Armalite AR-30 in 338 Lapua and would like to hear from anyone who has actually owned/fired the Armalite.
Questions specifically towards the muzzlebrake and accuracy out to 800-1000 yards. If you have one or shot one could you please reply. Many thanks. Gary

Hi Gary,
I don't have a AR-30 but I do have a 338 Lapua Mag. With a good muzzle brake, the recoil on mine feels like a 308. A lot of people are afraid of mine but after they shoot it once, I can't get them off of it until I run out of ammo, ha ha. The only down side is the cost of the reloading componets. Mostly the brass. It is a fun gun to shoot and can be very accurate with the right loads. Catch you later, The Big Dog |

.338 Lapua Mag is the round, not the gun. Are you thinking about something like the Arctic Warfare Magnum in .338 Lapua Magnum?

Moisin, I love the caliber; almost the stopping power, and as much energy, as the .375 H&H, my personal 'Fave'.
I am a 'recoil sponge' so that is not an issue, but 'down range performance' is. Either round will do what is expected, one shot, out beyond 600, well shot. But, what is that odd looking object, on the corner of the table? Almost looks like you may hunt at night, too!

It's either a night vision unit, infrared devise, or an odd looking spotter lens.
