As an Australian i am unsure if the model name of the Smith and Wesson 22S as know to me is the same in the states. However this is rather irrelivant, i would like to know how they compare as a target pistol for shooting a standard pistol match against other .22's in the same price range.

In that price range, the S&W 22S is about as good as it gets.

Well what could you reccomend as an alternative in the second hand market for around the same price, considering that a 22S is asking $600 AUD second hand, what else is an accurate pistol for around $300 US?
