This is also the date of my first enlistment as a Regular Army Soldier. I had been in college and completed 90 qtr hrs. I was drafted as a US into the Army in 1971 even though I had been in a single car crash that claimed four of my friends less than three years prior and was still recovering from those injuries. How and why did this happen? Who is responsible? I guess it's who you know, or who you blow. I was pressed into the infantry as a mortarman. They couldn't handle my attitude and I could not handle their incompetence. They ended up putting me in the psych ward, where they wrote false statements about me and putting quotes in the in the interviews that I did not make. Of course the Medical Evaluation Board gave me a Medical discharge, but the whole thing was false, they had lied and the statements were fabricated by the behavior specialist. They tried to get me to sign the statements as an indication that I agreed with it. On two separate ocassions I checked the block indicating non-concurrance. The finest example of military politics. I used to be quite about it, I'm 62 years old now and I want the world to know how my rights never have existed and never will exist. FTA all the way.
