Default Question about applying for C&R

I have the application for a C&R license and I have a few questions?

1. Do I need to use a credit/debit card or can I send a Postal Money Order?

2. Do I need to fill out a "Certification of Compliance with 18 U.S.C. 922(g)(5)(B)" as well as the C&R application?

3. If #1 is yes, I can send a MO, how much do I send?

I sent mine off about last week, the application fee is $30. I paid with a credit card but I think you can pay with check or money order as well.

Got my eye on one peach of a Mosin Nagant 91/30 (1942 Tula)

Well, that answers #1 & #3 but what about #2?

I filled out the application and sent it off to TBA and local sheriff, can you refresh my memory as to nature/specifics of #2? I don't have a copy of the app on hand.

Glad to help.

http://www.titleii.com/pdf/5330-20.pdf

The newer version has a line to write in, rather then those boxes, but it's the same thing.

Try it now. Seemed like TFF added in it's address in front of the one I put in.

It worked pasting into web brower. I filled out 1-3 and then moved onto 7 because I am a citizen of the USA.

Hope that helps.

I just wish they'd make these forms in plain English, not politician lingo.

So, my name in fields one and two and then my country of origin in three and then my Jon Hancock in seven?

I think the address for BATF is on the back of the application form. If I remember correctly, the office is in Atlanta, GA- that's where you send it.

OK, the serious last question. The last line on pages 2 and 4 (Before the "For ATF use only") says "sign here" "Title" and "date". Does the CLEO sign in both places? It looks like it does, but assumptions usually don't work, well.

1st copy goes to BATF, 2nd goes to CLEO

Sign here = your signature required on both forms

Title = "individual" or "collector" for both forms

Date = date

Good luck Mosin_Nagant_Fan

Is #9 just for business + Corps.

In #14 do you initial all four, or only the ones that apply? 1 + 4 in my case.

If you pass a retail purchase back ground check, and have a Illinois FOID card
should I have any problems.

Any problems expected living in Illinois, I am outside of Cook County.

Thanks

Welcome lilguy,

I don't have copy of the application infront of me- can you give more detail on questions for #9 & #14?

I believe that as long as you are not disqualified from purchasing firearms, you should be able to get your C&R. Illinois may have further restrictions, might be a good idea to check with local police or sherrif department....
