Ditto here Bottle. My son (14) and I have 91/30s and have a great time with them. Glad to know you and your dad are out there putting rounds down range.

About two weeks ago I forget to take the recoil pad for the MN 44 (keep it on the SKS to lengthen the stock).
The day after shooting the 40 rounds or so, I had no bruise, and I'm not at all a muscular guy. My son is much better built-he's twenty.

I had no bruises at all from the 44, but had some last fall when shooting the 'naked' M-1 carbine. Strange?

I saw one the other day at the gun store, and it looked like what you are describing here.....no arrow inside the star. I also saw the ones with the hammer and sickle stamp.
