Hi rollinztx.....welcome to TFF.

Keep checking back. Our resident expert Harrington & Richardsons, Bill Goforth (he's literally writing the book on them ), should be along shortly to tell you all you'd like to know about your H&R.

H&R used the "AF" letter codes in 1969. value of a Model 732 (manufactured 1957-1986) would be 60%=$85 to 100%=$185

the Model 732 is capable of using either the 32 S&W or the 32 S&W LONG.

FYI, the 32 S&W Long is a very accruate cartridge and is chambered in many fine target handguns.

I have an H&R 732 with a serial number starting with AL. Do you know when these were manufactured? Also, I've seen that some of these say .32S&W Long, but mine just says .32S&W. Can all model 732s safely fire 32 long, or only the ones that specify it? Thanks in advance for any information you have.

AL=1973

MODEL 732 GUARDSMAN----------------------------------------1958-1973
Solid Frame, Double Action, Swing-out cylinder, Round & Square butt, 32 S&W Long Caliber, 6 Shot, Blue Finish, Barrel Length 2½, & 4 inches
VALUE: 100%=$185 60%=$85

MODEL 732 GUARDSMAN SECOND MODEL (TRANSFER BAR IGNITION) -----1974-1986
Solid Frame, Double Action, Swing-out cylinder, Round & Square butt, 32 S&W Long Caliber, 6 Shot, Blue Finish, Barrel Length 2½, & 4 inches
VALUE: 100%=$185 60%=$85

H&R mixed the markings on this model. when the model 732 was introduced the 32 S&W was considered an obsolete and they were just marked 32 S&W refering to the 32 S&W LONG. they will chamber both.

I have a H&R Topper 20ga. I'm gonna say it's roughly 21 years old serial# starts with BB. Can you tell me when it was manufactured, and the current value? Its NIB.

the v letter code was used in 1959. the S&W grips will not fit unless they have a lot of alterations.

Hi, new to the forum - my dad gave me a gun the other day - H&R 32 S&W L, Model 732, Serial Number starts with AP. It was my dad's first gun, so I'm not trying to value it, but I just want to know what year it might have been manufactured. Thanks so much to anyone who may know.

1976 For values sake, if in good used condition, it' worth around the $125-140 ballpark, obviously worth much more in sentimental value, but good to know for insurance purposes.

Welcome to TFF and hope you'll post some pics of the gun and hang around for a bit.

I have a H&R that was in great condition but now won't shoot. When attempting to shoot single or double the hammer goes back but stops just prior to firing. It appears I may(?) be able to fire after pulling the hammer back, letting it go forward and pulling the safty(?) behind the trigger?

Any ideas? Is it worth trying to repair? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
