That's a good thing for certain. It's the very least they can do for the life changing sacrifice's made by each and every one of them.

Good Afternoon every one. Since you guys seem to know the HR guns so well I thought you might be able to help me out. I have the 7 shot 22 and the cylinder pin is missing and one of the grips is damaged. The gun is nickle with the blued trigger guard so I am not concerned with value I just like the little gun. If anyone has a source for these items I would appreciate your help.

Stormboss,
Welcome to the forum. I just checked the Numrich/GPC site and they're sold out. Try these guys - they specialize in obsolete gun parts: www.jackfirstgun.com www.schludershots.com www.wisnersinc.com

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and just bought an H&R .22 cal. seven shot revolver from a local pawn shop. It just looked too cool to pass up. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help with dating it and maybe a value? It has a 4027 stamped under the left grip panel. The # is also scratched into both grips on the inside. It has H & R Arms Company Worthester, Mass. U.S.A. stamped on the left side of the octagon barrel but no cal. marking. YOUNG AMERICA DOUBLE ACTION on top of the frame. Thanks.

michaelm811,
Your H&R Young America .22 DA is a first model, 3rd variation manufactured from 1897-1904. From the low serial # I would guess the exact year of manufacture to be 1898. It looks to be in very good condition, and would probably be worth in the $150-$180 range. It is designed for black powder cartridges. Old Gun Guy |

Thanks OGG, I was hoping I didn't pay too much. I gave $150, out the door. I'll hold on to it. I've gotten to the point where I will never sell another gun for any reason. Thanks again for the info, you made my day.

I also have a Young American with the serial number 21.53 stamped on the left side under the grip. No cal. ident anywhere. Can you tell me the year of production please?

wow, there it is. Thinking about taking it to "kicks for guns" and getting $50.00 gas card. Good or bad idea?
