Hey guys....got another for ya. I got a Stevens 12GA w/ a 36" barrel (single shot). The only problem I have is it says Model 94P. According to my new Catalog of Firearms...a Model P doesn't exist. What's up with that? I know that the Stevens aren't really desireable....but want to get my ducks in a row and sound semi-intelligent.

Yeah, Sox, it exists......you've got one!
![]() Manufacturers often make changes to a firearms model (usually minor), and change the model # slightly by adding a letter or a dash number. Smith & Wesson uses a dash number.....Model 29-2, Model 29-3, etc. In the case of Stevens, on this particular model, it looks as if they used a letter after the Model #. In the case of "guns values books" (Blue Book, Standard Catalog of Firearms, etc.).....if the change doesn't affect the value, they often don't list it. In your particular case, the changes don't affect the value. |

X is right on target, sgt. That is a nice looking little Stevens single by the way. Stevens made lots and lots of them, both under their own name and for countless other companies who distributed them under their own brand names. They may not have a great deal of value in terms of money, but they are GREAT shooters, strong and highly reliable. Enjoy!
