Member Posts: 6 (1/2/03 9:05:11 pm) Reply slide stop -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi all, I have a llama minimax in .45 caliber. After firing about 500 rounds of ball ammo, the slide stop broke in two. Question: Can I use aftermarket parts (Ed Brown, etcc...)? Some friends of mine said I should use only Llama parts. Any suggestions from the members of this forum?? I would see if a 1911 slide will fit. If so, try it. If there's a decent sized gun shop near you, take your Llama down there. He might have a box with misc. 1911 parts with a slide stop in it. Try it and see if it fits. If there's a gunsmith near you, he'll almost certainly have one to test fit. If you can find (an American made) one that fits.....buy it and use it. It will certainly be made of better metal than any replacement you'll get from Llama. As for whether or not other aftermarket parts will fit? Who knows? The Llama is a copy of the M1911, but whether all parts are dimensionally identical.....again, who knows? Edited by: Xracer at: 1/3/03 9:33:52 am
