New EMF 1892 Lever Action
Bid on and won an EMF 1892 Lever action in 357/38spl cal.
The seller was Colt_man on *********. What I bid on was the stainless, but when it arrived it was the case-hardened and blued model. To his credit, he apologized and offered to do whatever it took to satisfy me. (And he was very busy at the time with an ATF inspection.) By that time, I had kinda grown to like the looks of it. There was a $25 price difference between the two models. He offered to refund me back $25, and that suited me just fine.
One the way home from work I stopped and got a box of Magtech 158gr LRN 38spl. After giving the rifle a cleaning (I always clean new/new-to-me rifles first) I went to the range. (A friend of mine owns some land that has an old rock quarry on it.)
My other lever action is a Henry, so of course I wasn't expecting the smoothness of a Henry from an EMF. However, I must say the action and the trigger was acceptable...not bad at all. It fed and fired fine.
I had several steel targets at different ranges (max 100yds), and I was very pleased with the accuracy. I hit 45 out of the 50 rounds I had.
For the money, the gun is a blast.
I'll see how it does at the shoot this week.
