Default Sabot's - any opinions or tips

I got a bunch of the Sabot's for my 30-30 Marlin and will probably be trying them out shortly.

Question for people that have shot these - how often do you check the barrel for melted plastic?

Will this even be as noticeable or show up in a micro-groove barrel?

This is being fired out of a lever action - but don't worry, I'm not going to be loading
more than 2 rounds at a time into the feeder, since these will be pointed tips.

This is not for hunting, this is just something to try out.
Interested on seeing trajectory, and how much of a difference it is from standard
rounds, like 130 gr, 150 gr, 170 gr, and then these sabots, which are loaded with 55 gr .223 rounds.

I am thinking, since they are almost 1/3rd the weight, it will be much flatter trajectory path?
