Default Good source for authenticating a Bowie knife

I have a Bowie Knife purchased (from a museum) that auctioned off it's collectables when it closed it's doors. It is said to be original, but I would like to know if anyone has ever seen this type of knife before and can identify it or date it / appraise it...etc... Any info would be greatly appreciated. Length 15.5"

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=691 is a great place to research the knife-though I think you'll find out it's not very old or original.
