Default Trapper Model

my grandpa gave me a gun to find parts for it... the only info i have is that it says trapper model on the top of the gun and 22 rim fire on the barrel... model 171***

it's missing the revolver..

a break down of the gun would be nice as well... just in case it's missing more parts i can't see

thanks

the H&R Trapper was manufactured between 1924 and 1942. your with a serial number in 171??? range was most likely manufactured in the early 1930's era. the trapper model is a variant of the model 1906 introduced in 1907 and is serial numbered in the same series as the model 1906.

try numrich arms they might have what you are looking for
www.e-gunparts.com

the part you are refering to as the "revolver" is actually called the "cylinder"

the H&R trapper model is a variant of the model 1906 all internal parts are the same. this includes the cylinder. the only problem is blue finish on the model 1906 is rare, standard finish for the model 1906 was nickel, while the standard finsih for the trapper model variant was blue.

another on-line parts supplier is bob's gun shop (i do not have the correct web address close at hand).

Victory Vision, I really don't think you are going to get a reply from Mr. Goforth. This fine gentleman is no longer with us, and we are the lessor for it.
Bumble Bee, how are you using .22 magnum cartridges in a 22 Long rifle chamber, I would think they would fit rather tight
