I've got a Ruger MKII "Great Eight" that I'm tryint to scope. So far the only two options I have are to either get a B-Square that I can't find for an 8" barrel or drill and tap it. Any opinions? Am I destroying the value of the gun if I drill and tap or is it not valuable enough to worry about? It's an uncataloged model. Tks//shep

Check out Burris. They make a mount that uses the rear sight slot and a clamp on the barrel just ahead of the frame.
I had one on a bull barrel and it worked great.
