I have a Winchester model 1890, 22 short, pump, serial#587933 (with an "A" under it) and it has an octagon barrel. I'd like to know if anyone would know what year it was manufactured and what it might be worth. The wood has a good fininsh with some wear. The blueing on the metal is worn some, but is clean and the serial# and other inscriptions are clean and crisp. The stalk has a slight rock (up & down) where it meets the metal. A little loose. I don't see any cracks. I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Your 1890 appears to be a Third Model 1890. The S/N's run from 352521 to 853000. 24" octoagon barrel, numbered on the lower tang and in bottom front of the reciever. This all according to my 2007 Standard Catalog of Firearms (pg. 1368). Pictures would help alot. There were two versions: a Standard and a Deluxe. Depending on which one you have would dictate the values.

Thank you for the comments. I took some pictures, but I'm not quite sure how to include them. I'll try again soon. |
