Has anyone here tried a .22 postal match? I've seen a few references to them, but haven't jumped into one yet. Sounds like a good idea for people who aren't around a gun club much. Any interest here in geting one going?

A postal match is where everyone takes a target and fires there best shots at it and emails it regular mails it in to be scored. Winner wins bragging right.

The range and type of target are specified as are the caliber and type of weapon. It works on the honor system.

I am in one right now on Flhunters board.

I'll use my .22 caliber off-breeds, don't know how they will compare to some of Y'alls but sounds fun!

Just don't shoot at the mailman

We could go with a handgun and rifle scoped/unscoped class

I can try to borrow the rules from the other site and modify them for our purposes.

I would be willing to organize this. Do we have anyone interested?

I was thinking .22's, cuz they're cheap. I saw one mentioned on the Parallax site, but they haven't gotten it together yet - was to use 20 tiny leetle silhouette targets. Probably should be different class for scoped and iron sites.

Warpig, since you seem to know what your'e doing, If you'll organize it, that'd be great.

Warpig, I'm in...gonna have to go without optics though...still optics illiterate!...picked up a simmons magnum scope at GB...but still need to buy a rifle for it...gotta love the .22 cal.!!! Got some guns coming in will post pics when they arrive, a couple are old Mossberg U.S. military trainers. Don't tell LTS, but a while back I even was bid on his Romanian trainers. Damn the attention span, for not paying attention to when the auctions were ending...

Maybe it`s better to tell you what "I" look for in older Mossy`s. Just me, ok?

I prefer long barrels, heavy if possible...as in model came with one.

Action is not important and I have no problem with a lefty (in the right configuration) yes I`m picky.

I am not fond of the old clipfed semi`s

A big old narley piece of wood too

I really like the 151M and the L46A-LS, but I`m very picky here. I have looked at boatloads.....it will come.

Now there is a little Colt semi rifle, that I dribble about from time to time...had a good lead, but the guy would never return my questions......for that matter, even answer.
I guess I ask the wrong question....How Much??
I gotta no.....right, never seen one priced.....may not need it that bad, but would at least like a price range. LTS

Now see there ya go Warpig hurtin' my feelins and all...cuz I ain't to pretty either...wasn't sure about letting the second drum go yet, until someone can tell me how robust they are. Jason, I put a Simmons 4x32 22 mag scope on it(had to do something the iron sights suck). Is the scope any good? Just a student...

I know Simmons has fans, but I have always thought of them as low grade myself. But for a .22 it would be just fine and dandy. No recoil there to mess things up.

If'n your shooting the same type of .22 caliber rifle as Zigzag, between you and Zig you guys will be a shoe in. He's got a freakin' movie theatre mounted on the rifle he's showin' off over at clyde's.
