fedupdon, unfortunately whether or not your work is getting done, if you are on company time, there are numerous cases supporting her view. Don't lose your job over non-business on business time.

She can say that your conversation was a warning and upon a second event, might result in an official reprimand leading to termination. If you are on a company computer, anything done, written, viewed, etc... can also be viewed by your employer. There is no expectation of privacy on a company computer.

I don't disagree with you, I just don't want to see you make a mistake and jeopordize your job unless it's not an issue to you.

SaddleSarge is correct, fed.

As long as you are on the business premises, you must abide by her rules. There are long settled cases in every state that uphold an employer's right to set determine what takes place or not on her premises.

Please don't jeopardize your job for TFF at work.

I know an attitude like that ticks you off, it would me too. But, what's the bottom line? You obey the rules, or you go hunt another job!

I can perfectly understand this womans position, guns are bad, they are eivl! Why, right here where I live there have been no less than eighteen guns seen walking the streets, looking for victoms in the last week!

Sorry to hear about your concerns at work. I must admit if my boss told me to cut it I would. Lucky he is a 2nd A supporter and Gun Owner.

Don't get yourself in any trouble at work regarding your hobbies... remember you can't buy any new toys without a paycheck.

I hate to say it, but the boss makes the rules. Of course that doesn't mean that you can't have open and active discussions with her afterwards. But, don't lose your job. Company time is company time. I didn't gab on the phone with my wife and friends on my old job. I'm a driver now and it's not-officially endorsed but it keeps you awake at night on the road so the bosses certainly look the other way.

What others say is true....it is the company's computer, the company's money that is paying you so the rules are the rules.

Having said that, I wonder if she would have taken the same position if she had learned you were visiting a site that promoted gun control or some other anti-gun web site. Hmmm.

I get the dirtiest and most raunchy e-mails (mostly jokes, occasionally pictures) from my boss. Unfortunately we do have a company-wide filter (as in the entire company world-wide) which cuts a lot out. This slipped through, anything with the word Xbox for example though is blocked . Fortunately we still had YouTube.

(I work(ed) in a building materials store, we had a lot of downtime , and you can only play so much frisbee with a front-end loader)

Screw that. Quit that job. I worked at a place like that once. It was run by women that hated men. They crapped on us on a daily basis. I put up with it for a year, then found a better job.

Now, I work for a cool dude that is a gun owner like me.

If she is so ignorant that she hates all guns, just hang in there, her ignorance will assure your climbing the ladder and you will replace her......

Make sure that you find the new job before you quit. I have no idea what you do for a living but at this point in time, the job hunting market absolutely sucks.

It's always easier to find a job when you have a job.

Stay the course, you can do more good from within and remember no matter howmuch it may piss you off to hear her/their platitudes about those horrible guns,
do not lose your job, you cannot win by losing.

It may go against the grain but tell her you are actually part of an anti gun group and doing research.

Once I was leaving a military arms fair and some protesters approached me, I told them I was actually from AI (A well know group) working undercover, I got immediate approval and a path was cleared.

My experience with fully liberal people is they tend to be spiteful and hateful. I'm reluctant to give advice about a man's job, but damn that must be hard taking orders from a liberal.

In the meantime, leave this where she'll find it.
