I am thinking about selling or trading the following gun and would like to know the value. I have a 16 ga double barrell side-by side Lefever Nitro Special. The serial # is S112813, so I think it was made in 1922. On the right barrell is "Nitro Special" and on the left barrell is "Lefever Arms Co., Ithaca, N.Y.". Each side has an engraving of a duck lifting off the water which is about 50-60% visible due to wear. The blueing on the gun is about 50% and the wood has no scratches into the finish, only a few small dings and dents. I think both barrells are full choke. There are two triggers, the safety is on top and the barrells do not eject the the shells.

Cabela's has one in their gun library. $600 bucks.
While this might be a bit pricey, at least you can go there and look theirs over. Mark |
