Default Now that the election is over, do you still watch as much news?

Just curious.

Last year, back when the primaries first started, I started watching the news at least 4 hours every night, recording much more, and fast forwarding through the boring/biased garbage. Weekends varied widely.

Now that the elections are over, I've cut back to only a few news shows, almost all on fox news, from Neil Cavuto, to O'Reilly, and Hannity and Colmes (fast-forward/mute every time Alan opens his vial trap).

I'm looking forward to seeing Glenn Beck on Fox, starting in February. I liked him on CNN (only CNN show I watched). I don't watch anything on MSNBC. Chris Mathews was great four years ago, but now he's way too biased to take seriously. I do like Joe Scarborough, but rarely watch his show. Hopefully he'll come over to Fox too.

Now that the election is over, I watch some news again. I quit completely somewhere around the first of May. It was too much of the same story with no change.

I did still listen to talk radio during that time... and I guess if Sportscenter counts as news, I didn't give that up!

Of course I still watch. Rome is burning! Bailouts mismanged, icon auto manufactors teetering on bankruptcy, new (old) cabinet picked, pirates reincarnated, watch half my net worth dissapere, might as well watch the history of how it happened! We paid the dues, might as well get some entertainment out of it!

I voted Absolutely although I have dialed it back from 100% to about 99%.
I read 4 papers a day while listening to talk radio and glanceing at the news babes on Fox News.
I'm in serious need of a life.

Hey Art, I have an idea!

Do you remember that GI Joe that traveled around among TFF members awhile back?
If you make the drive up here, I'll put you up for a couple days, and we can head out to the range together.

Did he ever make it back across the border. I think the Canadain border guards detained him because he was carrying.

Thanks for the offer but someone's got to be home to feed the critters.

I haven't heard anything from him in quite a while. Of course, I don't remember seeing anything from Bunnyhunter in quite a while, either.

I've been worried about Bunny. I think Vlad said he was in school, but I would have thought that he would check in. I hope he's ok.

Election? Was there some sort of election that I should have voted in? Oh well maybe next time; just joking.

News.

Are the terrorist still active? If so, what is there land mass of choice? Any one of the countries in Africa, maybe the Philippines, maybe Indonesia? Are those pirates in Somalia really affiliated with Al-Qaida like they say?

What are the Russians up to? How active are they in South Ossetia, are they starting their new base there yet? Are they going to start using Cuba or Venezuela as an airfield like they said they were going to yet?

How is Israel doing with any one of their problem neighbors? What about their elections?

What is happening in Iraq? Do they have power to all of the country yet? How are the Sons of Iraq doing? How many Iranians are we still catching?

Did my buddy in Vegas fly any missions into Pakistan with his Predator? How many pounds of fuel did the Air Force burn up yesterday?

Are there any new firearm laws that everybody should know about? How about the recent ‘good shooting’ yesterday, did you hear about that?

As you can tell by my interests, I have to go elsewhere than the TV for my news. But I go just as much now than I did two years ago.

I don't 'watch' the news ... no TV . However I do keep up with it with the internet : Drudge Report and Fox News .... We are cancaling the local paper because of it's liberal leaning. It is jaw dropping how the so called reporting/editorals are is so 'tilted'. Just the 'facts' folks. Let the people decide....

I'm in Midland, just about 50 miles north of Owosso. My girlfriend is finishing up college here, and since I don't have a career just yet (and the outlook isn't great right now), I'm hanging out with her for the time being.

Oddly, I grew up in Kokomo, Indiana, which is just about 80 miles SW of Ft. Wayne.

And I'm not excited about my first Michigan winter! It's been snowing here all week.

Its been over twenty years since I watched a mainstream news program on TV, unless I was visiting another in their home and it was turned on, and than, I ignore it.....

I would specifically peg the time period to be during or before the Carter administration.

Bruce, I lived in Boston for a few years and 50 yards from the ocean's edge in Gloucester, Mass. Still I don't think it would compare with Michigan. Brrrrr.

Sorry for the drift, Pow.

Didn't watch any of the election coverage, or debates.
Their lips were moving...........

Haven't watched much news for years. Most time I have the wife fill me in on what the weather is supposed to be like. Surprisingly enough, they are getting fairly accurate for the next day or two. More accurate than they used to be. Any further out, and it is still a crap shoot.

I should have added a poll question:

"Now that election is over, have people INCREASED or resumed their news viewing..."

There would probably be some responses to that one.

The only time I watched the news was at work during my two breaks and at lunch time because that is all that was on when I went into the break room. When I got into the break room first, I would turn on the History channel and hid the remote - it really pi**ed off a bunch of folks.

The Post Office quit paying the cable bill so Dish Network cut us off about 3 or 4 days before the election and hasn't been on since. Now you can actually carry on a conversation and can hear what the other person is saying.

The only time I watch "news" now is local news to get the weather forecast!!

Well, there's not quite as much news on now that the primaries and election are over.....so I'm back to my usual news watching (which is quite a bit).

Been a "news junkie" (and a history buff) all my life, and today's news is tomorrow's history.

The tune already changing now he's won the election ! His supporters got suckered and
he's not even in office yet and President -Elect is already trying to lower expectations
after promising the world to get the office of President.Question is how's he going to pay for it. Democrats do two things : write laws that take away freedoms and tax the productive citizens.
