1939 headstamp 7.7 ammo with blue tip ( 303? )
stopped by a gunshow ont he way to work. kinda small / dismal.. but oh well..
saw these old rectangular cardboard boxes, plue faded label. 50 round boxes. ammo was not on strippers.. but did have cardboard dividers between each 5 rnd strip
ammo was blue painted tip.. had what apeared to be small circles in the projectiles. small indentations actually.
( at least 1 box was green tip ).
label was in a foreign but slightly readible language ( spanish, french, italian.. perhaps )..
some boxes had a
on them. a big RA was on top of the box
box was marked 7.7
cartridged LOOK like 303 brit to me.. not 7.7 jap. though I did not have any case gauges with me.
headstamps were 39
any clue what this stuff was?
seller said he bought it out of an estate... he had other buld asst ammo.. 84 headstamp lake city 762x51 orange tip ( tracer i assume ).
th seller said he thought the green tip was a tracer as well. had no clue on t he blue tip.
He had some cheap 8mm mauser I was interested in though...
