I was given* an H&R Model 732 in what appears to functional and possibly even good condition. I'm not so much interested in value. From research I've done so far I can see they're not worth much. Besides, I plan to keep & shoot this unexpected windfall.
What I would like to learn is (a) manufacture date and (b) if it can use both .32 S&W and .32 S&W Long. Serial number: AJ11185 On barrel: Model 732 .32 S&W On side, above trigger: H&R INC WORC. MASS USA Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. *conversation with a friend: Q. "I have an old gun in my dresser drawer that's been there for ages. I don't want to touch it. Will you get dispose of it for me?" A. "um... sure!"

Welcome
If it's first model Mfg from 1959-1973 according to 29th addittion blue book of gun values. Mine was chambered for 32 s&w only ! Should be 6 shot. I traded mine for an IJ Supershot, 7 shot wish I would have kept it! 732 is a neet little keep over the sunvisor revolver. Hope this helped Be safe, Happy New Year Fred |

H&R used the letter codes "AJ" in 1972. by the time H&R introduced the model 732 they were no longer manufactureing any revolvers chambered for the 32 S&W cartridge (small frame 5 shot revolvers). although marked 32 S&W the model 732 was always chambered for the 32 S&W Long, and of course would chamber and fire the shorter 32 S&W. when H&R introduced the 32 Magnum cartridge it was on a hearier frame and cylinder and the 32 S&W and the 32 S&W Long could be fired in this new revolver also. contrary to what some of the pricing guides state the model 732 was never offered in the 32 magnum caliber nor should any one try to convert a model 732 to 32 magnum caliber, the frame and cylinder are just not strong enough for the magnum load.
