After a 10 year layoff from shooting I dug out my Ruger MKII .22 target model. I would like to add a Red Dot Scope to it. My pistol is blued finish with 6 7/8" bull barrel and adjustable sights.....Can I mount a scope without gunsmithing work being done? If so can someone tell me what type base do I need to buy and where can I buy it.......Any help appreciated. Thanks, Wally

B-Square and burris offer a no drill & tap base, you can check the BROWNELL`S websight.

I have the Leupold mount on my Gov't model MKII - it replaces the right grip panel and is cantilevered over the barrel for use of Weaver type rings. Don't need to take existing sights off - only thing removed is the grip panel.
