It's amazing, but I too am a loyal glock man! I am becoming more and more fascinated with the 1911. I have purchased two so far. A springfield and a unknown, atleast to most, American Classic II. I am very pleased with the AC II, it shoots well and very accurately! I have ran about 200 rounds through it without a hiccup! Bought it out the door for $482! Everyone knows what the Springfield does!
Now contemplating a Kimber Pro Carry II! Have to get it Ok'D with the wife first! Not going to be easy. Glock 19 Glock 23 Glock 30 Taurus PT145 Bushmaster M4 Yugo Underfolder AK |

I've had better luck this time arround...excepting the Dan Wesson. I have developed a serious grudge towards it and should probably trade it off. I'm toying with the idea of writing CZ a letter about it to see if they will do anything about it. I think it was poorly machined. The slide will not lock open half the time after the last round. If you pull the slide back with an empty mag in it it will not catch and lock open...ya gotta fiddle with the darn thing.... I HATE FIDDLING with guns. THEY SHOULD FREAKING WORK RIGHT WHEN THEY'RE NEW!!!!!!! sheesh. Little stuff like that bothers me. ![]() mike gn

GN,
Bad news pal! Glock called and asked whether they should revoke your lifetime membership. I told that them you have decided that you were switch hitting with colt. Sorry but consider this as notice that you are no longer welcome at the glocks! ![]() |

Colt Lightweight Commander in 45acp. Brushed Stainless with conventional 3 dot sights.
Even fully loaded its still pretty light. Its a little snappy when shooting but not unbearably. I like it that light. I also have a commander that is not the lightweight version and when its loaded its really heavy. If i ever had to carry it in a holster the lightweight would be much better. mike gn

Haven t had much experience with Glock. I have had some sort of Colt or clone for over 30 years. Her is my carry piece. series 70 commander in 45acp,bomar type sites kimber pro mag. I know the purists will scream an extended slide release. She eats anything I feed her without a hitch

Oh heck man...i like the looks of that extended slide release!!!! That Dan Wesson i have is a bugger to get it to release the slide. With that particular 1911 i just tug the slide back to get it to release instead of trying to work the slide release....
I don't think its machined very well? mike gn
