Default New Toy

1873 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine in 44-40. Made in 1883. You guys would throw rocks at me if I told ya what I paid for it.
Anyone know where I can find an original buttstock and buttplate for it?

Nice find trap!

I have a cousin who has one in 38/55. It had a lifting block timing issue that we figured out to be a bent lifter arm, and got it running once again. Shot black powder reloads through it, and it did repectably well at 50 yds. As for the butt stock I wish I could help you, but am at a loss....Once apon a time Dixie gun works may have had reproduction butt plates, but I am sure you want an original. Good luck on your quest! Best regards, Kirk

What a really nice rifle. I can only guess that you must of got it at a buyers price since you are bragging about it. I would like to run across one like yours one day and have the coin to do the deal. Congratulations on an excellent find.
