I haven't yet, managed to come upon 500# of WW lead about 6 years ago, got about 150# left, got it all for $125 from a tire shop before they switched to Zinc WW's. I also have a small amount of pure lead for my muzzleloaders but that's it at the moment.
I should break down and buy some #2 linotype or try some known hardness but putting all extra $$ towards other components lately. There's local non-ferrous metals places here in Tacoma, WA that will sell large amounts of pure lead and other stuff, thinking about making my own alloy if I can get all the metals I need (when I run out of WW). Taking a chem class right now, should help me get the mixture correct! will be trying a few more bullets, I have a feeling I just haven't found what she likes yet. I'm using 405gn RNFP and the 475gn RN (both gas checked) which are on the lighter side, going to try some 500gn next.

I find my trap loads pattern better with OS cards. I using fed top gun hulls, greendot, win 209s and WAA12 wads. I initally started using the OS cards to plug the hole in the center of my Ballistic Products clear hulls. The mouths are un-skived and the crimp is thick and leaves a hole in the center #8 shot can fall out of.
After using the BP OS cards, I started using them in all my hulls. ANd by far my fav hulls are Rem STS.

I'm tackling those little 9mm again. Got 500 ready for the Lee FCD but have a couple hundred more to go before I am done. 4.2gr. HP-38 under 124gr fmj Winchester bullets, COL 1.13.
I still am not supposed to shoot till the first of the month because of wrist surgery but we are going to the range tomorrow. The first time in over four weeks and I am taking the Ruger MK III along. That easy shooting fire arm should be OK if no one tells on me. I'll just sit in the shade and watch the others shoot.

I feel your pain todd. id be inconsolable if i coulnt shoot for even a week. MAke sure you wear your brace todd. And if the doc doesnt have you in one a good fitting bowling brace should be a big insurance policy..

Thanks folks. I went to the rehab people on Wed. and they couldn't believe the progress I have made and said I didn't need their services. I cheated and when I got the bandages off I Googled the post surgery exercises and have been doing them right along. Dang it looks like we may get some very badly needed rain in a few minutes.

This is what I reloaded today.
50 rounds Hornady 185gr HP-XTP, 5.7 grains of Bullseye for 900 fps. After I eat my pizza for lunch I will do some more. I hope your wrist gets better Todd. |

Working on the 7 mag. I chrono'd some rounds I loaded last year 59 grains IMR 4350, 160 N.P. and only got 2790, thought I'd get faster. Now, I'm loading up another 100, varying bullet seating depth from 3.225 to 3.290; see what gives me the best groups.
Also need to load up a few hundred 6.8s and some 270's. I got 9 100 round MTM boxes filled, 7 more to go; alot of time on the bench. |

Went to the range Friday and shot 50 rounds of 45/70 through my Marlin 1895 SBL so I reloaded them all plus a bunch more. Also did 50 .50 A&E's.

I may have to revisit the OS cards for skeet loads, they're pretty cheap.

hee hee hee... I had been looking for WW lead at every shop around, made dozens of phone calls, nobody had any. guys like me were scavenging all to be had. Then I went to a gunshow about an hour away and on the way home, stopped at a goodyear shop and they had 3 1/2 5gal buckets full of WW! bought all of them and put them in the wife's Honda accord, you shoulda seen it!
we were scraping on speedbumps, that is ALL that car could hold! rear end was almost on the ground. bought a dutch oven to melt them and made them into ingots over about a week's time. ![]()

I am pretty much jealous of your reloading blocks. I keep threatening to make some but I guess I need to get off my butt.

If you got anywood working tools they are really easy to make. I can make them in about an hour or so depending on what caliber, how many in a block etc.

I used walnut which was given to me by a friend. You can use most any wood however. Forstner bits are what you use to drill the wood with.http://thefirearmsforum.com/showthre...cks#post771599

I need to get a drill press so I can make more for myself, miss the old one my dad has still. Only loading block I have left is a plastic RCBS one that came with my rockchucker.
Those walnut blocks do look awesome! I do still have a bunch of .22 LR ammo blocks for smallbore target shooting that my dad made when I started shooting target rifle.
