Default Blackhorn 209 in pistols?

Does anyone happen to know if 209 is safe to use in pistols? I've got a Ruger Old Army and an Uberti steel frame Remington 1858. I'm not looking for hot loads, just easier clean up.

Thanks for any info.

Best,
Oly

In another forum there was speculation that ignition (hence the "209" moniker) is the only problem regarding B209 and pistols.

Anyone? Buehler? Anyone??

Regards,
Oly

Finally came across a bottle of the stuff. Says clearly for standard 209 primers only and not percussion caps.

Bummer! Oh well.
