WINCHESTER MODEL 74 SEMI-AUTO RIFLE
Can anyone tell me how to figure what year this rifle was made? I have searched the internet but all the serial numbers I find are higher than this one. Winchester gave this rifle to my father in the early 40's to write a review on the rifle. The serial number is 98558 Thanks Val

I have a model 74 with a serial number of 26267. Do you know the date of manufacture? I have not been able to find any listing with a serial number in that range.
