Default Wincheswter 30-30

I have a Winchester, 30-30 Lever action Rifle Serial number located on the underside of the firing chamber which is; 16.820 The only other marking on the rifle is on the left side of the barrel close to the firing chamber which is;
30 30 win , the blueing on this one is very good 90% or so , Works and fires nicely. The barrel is 21 1/4 in. Any help in finding age ore value will be appreciated.

16,820?

That is an early '94.

Your gun was made in 1895. The 21 1/4 in. barrel is puzzling meaning it is shorter than most rifles in that caliber which were 24", however your gun because of its age should have a 26" barrel and the carbines were 20". Winchester did a lot of special order stuff in those days so it would be hard to give you a value without seeing the gun. Also I am guessing but you are probably measuring the barrel from the front of the receiver as opposed to the face of the bolt hence the odd measurement. You should put a cleaning rod down the barrel and measure how deep it goes in. If the barrel is factory and it has not been cut and the gun has not been refinished it is probably worth between 3 to 4 thousand. If it has been refinished and the barrel has been cut it is really just a shooter or a parts gun worth about 5 or 6 hundred. That is my learned opinion which is like a butt, everybody has one.
<Edit> I just reread your post and if the only marking on the barrel is 30-30 Win, the barrel has been changed and you only have a shooter.
