When I run across a bag of brass that won't accept the primer for anything. All but just a hand full were hard to press in. Some wouldn't. I examined the primer pocket, and I swear it looks like a brass ring of the old primer remaining inside the pocket. Like a sleeve or a piston ring. I couldn't get it out on the one brass I tried. Why was this batch so tough? Is there a tool that will enlarge the primer pocket or is just me. How do you get the primer ring out. I hate to waste the brass, If I can help it. rules for survival: Sight alignment, Breath control, & Trigger Squeeze BlackGUN AntiqueDr Moderator Posts: 1086 (10/19/01 6:23:39 pm) Reply | Edit | Del Re: Another dumb Question -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is it surplus brass? Most have the primers swaged in. There is a tool available to fix that, save the brass. We Buy Guns! 1 - 100, Antique or Modern! www.apaxenterprises.com BlackGun V.I.P. You need to ream the primer pockets. It can be done with a pocketknife (!) but there is a simple hand tool available that will take care of it for you. Once you get it, use it on ALL of your .45 brass (even if you think it doesn't need it).....it will eliminate small burrs that accumulate over time, and make primer insertion more consistant. You'll use it a lot if you use a lot of military brass. Worth the investment. BlackGun V.I.P.
